Monthly Mitzvah Project
This project reflects the Jewish commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), providing opportunities to give back to our community. We are very grateful for the generous support this program has received through a grant from the Oregon Jewish Community Youth Foundation.
Each month look for the lobby display highlighting the organization of the month. Check the display for how you can participate and donate to these worthy causes.
Join us in October for Hand to Hand
A community resources fair, bringing together 35+ local nonprofits that provide essential safety net services and support to local individuals and families.

Free, At the MJCC
• Donate winter coats, workplace clothing, formal gowns,
blankets, children’s books, non-perishable food,
sports equipment, gently used toys, cooking utensils.
• Learn about local nonprofit agencies
• Discover volunteer opportunities for the whole family
• Find the perfect way to get involved
Join us this December for the Mitzvah Menorah
Come together as a community to ensure that families and individuals are able to receive something special during the holiday season. Stop by the MJCC lobby in November to donate. Co-sponsored by MJCC, Jewish Family & Child Service.

NW Portland Ministries - March 2010
“Food for Kids Backpack” project is a program that provides weekend food for elementary school children living in shelters. Donate non-perishable, single serving food items that you may find in a child’s lunch - apple sauce, cheese and crackers, boxed raisins, healthy instant soups, and more. Dress for Success: January, 2010
Many thanks to all of you whom so generously donated gently used business attire to Dress for Success as part of PJA 7th grader Melissa Diamond’s Bat Mitzvah project, in collaboration with the MJCC’s Monthly Mitzvah program. During the month of January, our community of caring women donated over 500 items of excellent quality that will be used by women in need who are entering the workforce. Thank you for making this clothing drive a huge success! Everyone is invited to the 10th Annual Celebrate Success Auction, Dinner & Fashion Show on Friday, April 30, 2010.
